Pecan Porridge – A warm breakfast
Our classic porridge consists of fine oats, chopped pecan, almonds, cashew nuts, pumpkin seeds, and a dash of salt. It is free of refined sugar, just like all HIVE granolas and muesli. Porridge or oatmeal is eaten warm with or without fruit. It is prepared with hot water, milk or with a plant based milk substitutes, allow to simmer, and sit for a few minutes until it thickens. The addition of finely chopped nuts in HIVE Pecan porridge provides extra nutrients. You can also add a spoonful of HIVE granola for a crunchier taste.
Oatmeal or Porridge has been around for ages, and for good reason, oats contain magnesium, iron, folic acid and provide more protein than the average grain, for example 100 grams of oatmeal contains 14 grams of protein. In addition the pecans, cashews and almonds, provide your body with important nutrients, such as magnesium, folic acid, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, vitamins A, B, C and E. The fiber in oats keeps you full for longer periods of time which assist in controlling your weight.
